A head-to-head clinical trial with 121 patients with moderate AD aged 6 months to 18 years showed no statistically significant difference in efficacy between EpiCeram (n=59) and Cutivate® Cream (fluticasone propionate 0.05%) (n=62) at day 28 (P >.05).

Head-to-head results
  • Patients treated with EpiCeram had a 56% reduction in Scoring of Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) from baseline at day 28 (P < .0001)
  • At days 14 and 28, EpiCeram had comparable efficacy to fluticasone propionate 0.05% in decreasing pruritus (P > .05)
  • At day 14, fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream was significantly more effective than EpiCeram in reducing SCORAD (P < .05)
